Looking for food in the forest is one of the most important activities for the survival of the group. The products gathered (yam, fruit, mushrooms, etc.) are basically vegetables, but in some seasons of the year it is also possible to find small animals, such as termites and caterpillars.

5. Gathering of mushrooms and wild fruits

Carried in baskets and panniers, the products come to the camp, where they are shared by all the families. Then the food is eaten at once or after a short while, for it cannot be preserved for a long time, and part of it can be worked, such as in the case of manioc (which is dried in the sun and then pounded to obtain flour) or plantains (first roasted over coals and then crushed up in the mortar).
